Of Singing Songs and Late Shows

Whovians, you need to see this! I just found a video — a quite recent one given how difficult it was to find a video that can be viewed from the UK — and it features Miss Karen Gillan in Craig Ferguson’s The Late Late Show. And what’s more interesting than two of my favourite Scottish people talking about Scotland-y things and Doctor Who? Singing, that’s what!

Karen Gillan sings a song… in Gaelic. How awesome-tastic is that?!

Below is a YouTube video, but it can only be viewed in America seen as it’s on the CBS Channel. If you can’t see it, here’s a link to the video in the bing website. Hope it works! This is just too cool to miss.

Random Question #27

Would you rather have Starbucks or Jamba juice right now?

Uhh, what one earth is a ‘Jamba juice’? It sounds like an American thing, much like Starbucks but then again, I’m familiar with that coffee franchise. I love me my coffee. Either way, I’m feeling like having a nice hot cup of coffee right now, seeing as I’m ready to drop dead from sheer exhaustion.

Last night, I had a Supernatural marathon instead of revising for the maths mock exam the next day, so this morning I’m sincerely regretting my lack of common sense… or self-control. But what can I say? I’m in the middle of Season 3 of Supernatural and I’m hooked on the bromance-y angst! Or is it angsty bromance?

Huh. I really need caffeine. Ugh.

Over and out.

WATCH: Doctor Who Minisode and Christmas Trailer

Brand New Doctor Who Christmas Special Minisode Reveals a Very Different Doctor.

Well, what are you waiting for? No explanation necessary. If you’re a Doctor Who fan (or perhaps just have a passing interest in the show), then all you have to do is click that link! You’ll see this squee-worthy mini episode — a prequel of sorts — featuring the post-Pond Doctor and his three friends trying to adorably to cheer him up. Gosh, I miss Who humour!

Also, there’s a YouTube video in the comments somewhere of the episode trailer and let me just say: whoa. It’s going to be an epic episode and what’s more, it seems that the new companion Clara is from the past. That’s certainly new! …Well, new to this revamped series, at least. My knowledge of Old Who isn’t that good >_< Anyway, I’m simply excited to see what this ‘old’ companion can bring to the table.

Oh, and if by chance you can’t find the trailer video, HAVE NO FEAR. It’s posted below! *cheeky grin*

Books, Books and More Books!

In the words of the magnificent wordsmith, Dr. Nick Riviera: “Hi, everybody!” The week has just begun (er, well it began yesterday if you want to be pedantic), but lookie what I have scored!

  • The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
  • Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens
  • Sons and Lovers by D.H. Lawrence
  • War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
  • A Room with a View by  E.M. Forster
  • The Withered Arm and Other Wessex Tales by Thomas Hardy

Six books courtesy of my English teachers, all because they were clearing out their cupboard and apparently these books are too old. My immediate reaction was pfft, too old? That’s the best thing about books! Only, the little monkeys in my head were just the ones who heard that — like I’m actually gonna talk back to my teachers… ;n;

Anyway, they’re not the kind of books I would pick out first in a pile but you know what? I’m taking this as divine intervention and just read them all when I can. You know what they say: YOLO, carpe diem and all that jazz. Personally, I can’t wait until I can get my claws into War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells. Apparently he’s the father of steampunk?

I can see that several of these questions are quite personal, i.e. numbers 8, 21 and 44 and I do plan to answer the questions I choose as honestly as I can. However, I reserve the right to skip over certain numbers and just post a funny joke instead, like so:

Weekly Photo Challenge: Geometry

The very first thing — or I suppose, very first person —  that comes to my mind when I think of geometry is my old Geometry teacher back when I used to go to Bethel International School. I remember him to be easy-going and the class found him hilarious (his sense of humor catered to teenagers, shall we say). We only had him for a year before he became our Physics teacher.

Anyway, posting a picture of him feels a bit like cheating, so I decided with this one instead:

This picture was taken nearly three years ago, way back in April 2010. It was after a very long, very dull rehearsal for the end of school year’s Recognition Ceremony and I can’t really remember why, but my brother and I were hanging around this monument located somewhere in Tacloban City. I took pictures because back then, my camera and I were literally attached at the hip (I’ve had bruises to show for it!).

I have no idea what the statue stands for; I was quite ignorant back then. I still am now, actually, but I’d like to think that my awareness of current events has improved somewhat. After all, I know that Obama has been re-elected as the US president because it said so on Tumblr.

Um, yeah. Okay. Over and out!

The Eleventh Doctor Month

I halfheartedly sincerely apologize for that Doctor Who reference.

I just got a notification notifying me (because that’s what notifications do) that apparently, I now have 50 followers. Wow! Thanks, I suppose, to all you people who find my ramblings in one post interesting enough to dare and read another post. Have a cyber cookie, freshly baked from the oven that is my imagination.

Please be good to me.
