Never in a million years would I have walked into a movie theater and watch Transformers, but today circumstances seemed to have worked against me. Don’t get me wrong: I’ve watched the movies before Dark of the Moon and for all those times, I either lost interest halfway through or I wasn’t able to finish because of another engagement. So yeah, I’m not a big fan of the franchise. (Harry Potter, on the other hand… *wink, wink*)
Anyway, I watched the movie with my brother and my uncle. We watched it in 3D, which was awesome in and of itself. My only experience with 3D movies before Dark of the Moon was Rio, and that was pretty… meh, if you know what I mean. I didn’t see what the big hype was about watching movies in 3D, but now I know. ^__^
Transformers: Dark of the Moon, for me, was pretty boring plot-wise. Like I mentioned before, I’m not a fan of the franchise, but I think I know enough to warrant the question, “Where the heck is Megan Fox?” Don’t get me wrong, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was beautiful and did an okay job, but it was weird during the scenes where Megan’s character was alluded to.
Don’t think that I’m disrespecting or anything, but I nearly fell asleep while watching the movie. I mean, the fight scenes between the bad robots and the good guys (see how much of a noob I am?) was just too damn long. It got boring for me.
Oh, and the spotlight was definitely stolen from Shia when Ken Jeong came on. I’m not exaggerating when I say that a round of applause erupted in the theater when he emerged from the bathroom stall naked from the waist down.
To be honest, I think the only reason I managed to focus so much on the movie as due to the mesmerizing effects of the 3D experience — well, that’s the public reason. The private reason? Josh Duhamel (When in Rome) and Patrick Dempsey (Enchanted). Sorry, but I can’t find a better picture than below.
