#21 – A picture of something you wish you could forget

If you’ve watched the movie, then you know what I’m talking about. Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of my favorite TV shows/cartoon, and I was really, really beyond excited for the movie — not just because it’s the real-life (sorta) adaptation of the show, but also because Jackson Rathbone would be cast in the role of funny guy Sokka.

And I love me some Jackson. (Leftover admiration from his role as Jasper Whitlock in the Twilight Saga — see Breaking Dawn pictures here.)

Anyway, the acting was horrible and unbelievable. Aang was just a mess — far from his charismatic self, and it’s clear that the actor was chosen for his martial art talents and not for his acting chops. As for Katara, there’s something about her that I don’t like. And Sokka — don’t even get me started on him. I love Jackson and everything, but what happened to the comic relief?!

Most of all: didn’t anyone know how to ACT??? I’d insert more question marks, but then that’d be abuse.

Overall, the movie was a big disappointment. Of course, it did not help that my viewing experience was a total fail, too. There were no seats left in the theater so my brother and I had to stand, and stupidly enough, I had watched the movie just the weekend before I had to take my Quarter Assessment. But shhh! Don’t tell my teachers! ^_^

But enough about me. What did you think of this disaster?
