I’ve been in love with this song ever since I’ve first laid eyes on it (so to speak). I love the bittersweet regret of a lost love, and every time I listen to this song — which isn’t that often because it has the power to depress me slightly — I can’t help but think of possibilities for stories. What ifs. And you know, it’s impossible to resist a what if.
When I watched the corresponding video for this song, I felt satisfaction that one of my what ifs has come true. I knew the guy died and had not just upped Katy’s character and left. Otherwise, the regret won’t be as poignant. I know it’s very morbid of me to he happy that the guy ded… but for the sake of a story, I think it’s all right.
Anyway, the music video disappointed me slightly. Seeing senior citizen Katy Perry just didn’t work for me. I think it was the hair XD Comparing the video to ‘Thinking if You’ it simply didn’t mesh well with me. But oh, I love love love young Katy’s hairdo!! ^__^
