Yes, David Tennant is incredibly handsome and his accent — both British and Scottish — is enough to make the average girl swoon, but that’s not the reason why he’s my crush of the moment. I’ve been re-watching Doctor Who recently, specifically Seasons 1 to 3, when it occurred to me that the Doctor is a really complex character. That’s why I’m enraptured by the TV series so much (apart from the obvious: sci-fi, action, etc.).
So, that leads us to the conclusion that a complex character in the form of the Time Lord must have a very, very talented actor to portray him. Enter David Tennant.
The Doctor in Season 3, "Gridlock"
I’m not saying that Christopher Eccleston (the Ninth Doctor) isn’t any good, because I like him as well and it’s disappointing that he only had one season. And seeing as I’m only on the Tenth Doctor, I’m sure Matt Smith (the Eleventh) is a brilliant Doctor as well. However, from what I’ve seen of what Tennant can do, I’m declaring him as my favorite Doctor.
Season 2, Episode 13 "Doomsday"
Perhaps it’s in the eyes, or it could be his smile. Hey, it could even be his teeth. (How I envy his teeth… It’s all straight and not crooked at all.) When Rose gets stranded in Parallel Earth, you can literally feel your heart aching for the Doctor; you can clearly see the pain and longing in his eyes, both during the separation and afterwards (like when he’s with Martha in Season 3).
Moving on from Doctor Who, it’s a lesser known fact that David Tennant was cast the role of Barty Crouch, Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. For all you non-Potter fans out there, Barty Crouch, Jr. is a Death Eater who spent most of his screen time pretending (Polyjuiced) to be an ex-Auror by the name of Alastor ‘Mad-Eye’ Moody. I suppose that’s why Tennant’s screen time in the film was very limited.
But that’s not all. I’m no expert in all things Tennant, but I recall stumbling into a YouTube video a while back of him reciting Hamlet’s famous soliloquy To Be Or Not To Be (Act 3, Scene 1). I personally think he did it very well — it’s those eyes again, I tell you.
I’m not familiar with Hamlet, but am I right to assume that this scene is when he decided whether or not to commit murder? You could practically see the conflict in his eyes… It’s mesmerizing.

yeah! they are done by BBC Books, there’s like a half dozen of ’em, each one is maybe 2-4 hours, so not a super long committment. I really wanna get a 2nd one.
