#18 – A picture of your biggest insecurity

Ha! Pull the other one, it has bells on it!

Seriously, asking a girl about her insecurities? Do you want to get sued?

Er… hi? Okay, I’m just going to come right out and say it: I’m a girl, a teenage one at that, and I sure as hell am not cover girl material. I’m not even the smartest in class, nor the fastest on the uptake. But I do like to read, and I prefer to think of my scathing remarks as witty and not mean. ^_^

If I had to choose one of my biggest insecurities — I’m totally skipping over him – I think I’d choose my weirdness. No matter how many times I’d say that I’m fine with who I am and what I do, there’s still this little part of me comparing myself to everyone else. I mean, introduce me to someone who doesn’t do that.

I’d rather be by myself than pretend to share my friend’s interest in this thing or that thing just so I can hang out with them, and I’d rather partake in a witty banter than go partying in clubs. I don’t care if you listen to rap and R&B as long as I can rock to Cherry Bomb.

Still, I am a teen and I think this is a stage in people’s lives where acceptance is craved. I know it’s not a good thing to conform into what your peers want you to be, but come on — give a girl a break.

I see myself as the black sheep in the group. I’m the one who shies away from sports. I’m the one who knows who Charlotte Bronte is. And I’m the one who’s not interested whether or not you think school sucks because frankly, school is the highlight of my day.

Maybe I’ll find someone who is just like me, and maybe we’ll be friends. But until that day, I’m going to revel in my self-made title.

isn't this just cute?
